He continued this success with a bronze medal at the 2022 Dutch Dressage Championships in the ZZ-Zwaar class. In 2023, he successfully moved up to Prix St. Georges under his rider Renate van Uytert-van Vliet, achieving high scores. At the beginning of 2024, at Jumping Amsterdam, they finished fourth in the highly competitive Prix St. Georges class, followed by a good placing at the Dutch Masters. This was a nice conclusion to their time in the Small Tour, and we decided to continue training for the Grand Prix. In June 2024, the time had come, and Renate and Johnny Depp competed for the first time in the Intermediaire II, where a minimum score of 60% is required to qualify for the Grand Prix. This debut was won in Beesd with a score of 65.79%, despite several minor errors. They won their second Intermediaire II competition, this time with a fantastic score of 72.21%. In the winter of 2025, they will make their Grand Prix debut. A truly exciting development, as Johnny Depp possesses a truly beautiful technique for piaffe and passage, and his series are now well-established. But Johnny Depp is also making a name for himself as a breeding stallion. From his first two young crops, two stallions have already been selected for the second KWPN inspection. He also sired the top-selling stallion in our first successful Van Uytert Young Star Sales, and his son RS6, by Easy Game, was the top seller in the Van Uytert Mixed Sales! Renate van Uytert and Johnny Depp have already achieved great success. They became a harmonious combination when Johnny Depp was trained as a three-year-old. Their success began with a high placing in the Prinsenstad competition for 3-year-old dressage horses, followed by VSN, Horsefood, and winning the Young Horse Championship in Oosteind. Further successes came in the stallion competition, Subli, and the Pavo Cup, which they jointly won in 2019 for 5-year-old dressage horses. For three consecutive years, they qualified for the World Championships for Young Horses. In 2021, they were again very successful in Verden with the 7-year-old dressage horses, achieving a very respectable 7th place in the final. At the Hippiade, the Dutch Championship for Z2 dressage, they won the bronze medal. They have since moved up a level (ZZ-Licht) and have already achieved scores of 73%+ several times. Johnny Depp also shows great talent for passage. Renate plans to develop him gradually in the various levels and allow him to mature for more demanding work. His first foals, born in 2020, look very promising. They have a beautiful presence and move with great elasticity and lightness. Beautiful offspring of Johnny Depp have been sold at good prices at several foal auctions. We ourselves have a lovely group of foals and 1.5-year-old colts by Johnny Depp in our rearing program. Winner of the 2020 Subli Cup Final for 6-year-old dressage horses and Jumping Amsterdam, Johnny Depp possesses three outstanding gaits, which can be rated between an 8.5 and a 10. This, combined with his willingness to work, his attitude, his character, his presence, and his ease of use, makes him a true winner. His rider, Renate van Uytert, says about him: "It's wonderful to train and compete with Johnny Depp. He always wants to work for you; you hardly notice he's a stallion. He learns very quickly and gives you so much energy; it's simply heavenly to ride him." Pedigree: Johnny Depp is a highly interesting bred stallion from the strong dam line of the top Vredenheim breeder, Tinus Naber. His full sister Hiana, a 3-year-old filly who had only been ridden for 2.5 months, received an IBOP score of 88 points! That is truly an incredible achievement. Judge Ine van Deurzen explains: “Hiana has a lot of bend in both her forelegs and hindlegs in trot and canter, and above all, very good balance. For such a young, tall horse, she can move forward very well, but also bring her hindquarters back. She has a good, ground-covering stride, but for a 9.0, which she received for trot and canter, she should be a bit more relaxed. She is certainly also a very willing dressage horse with a lot of enthusiasm and self-carriage.” Johnny Depp’s full brother, the stallion Idol N, is very successful under Laura Quint and has already achieved top marks in several young horse classes. His dam, the mare Wiana, is also the dam of the KWPN Stallion Foundation, descended from our stallion United, whom we also purchased as a foal from Tinus Naber. Foundation was licensed as a KWPN stallion as a three-year-old and sold as a four-year-old via our EDS auction to Platinum Stables, where he was successful in stallion competitions under Franka Loos and was ridden up to ZZ-Zwaar level. He is now successfully competing at the highest level, Grand Prix, under Kirsten Brouwer. The fifth successful horse out of the Jazz mare Wiana is the ZZ-Zwaar dressage horse DTS Eva Wiana, ridden by Bengt Snijders.
