HERMITAGE GALLON

Ermitage Kalone has undoubtedly established himself as the talk of the show jumping world. This outstanding athlete and crowd favorite won the gold medal at the 2023 Belgian Championships under Gilles Thomas and consistently placed in top-level international show jumping competitions. In 2024, he competed at the Olympic Games in Paris, qualifying for the final with a clear round. Following numerous placings in Grand Prix events such as Vejer de la Frontera (1.50m, 6th place), Moerzeke (1.55m, 2nd place), and Maastricht (1.55m, 6th place), he most recently jumped a double clear round in Mechelen to finish 5th in the World Cup Grand Prix over 1.55m. His greatest achievements to date are the team gold medal and individual bronze medal at the 2025 European Championships in A Coruña, where he impressed with five perfect clear rounds. His sire, Catoki, won, among other titles, the Grand Prix of Rastede. Later, Catoki competed at the highest level under Phillip Weishaupt and Emil Hallundback. Many of his offspring have placed in the world's most challenging courses and championships, for example, Catch Me If You Can (ridden by Laura Klaphake and Anna Kellnerova) and Contanga 3 with Alberto Zorzi. Ermitage's dam is Belleaventure Kalone, a daughter of Kannan, who was injured as a young horse and used only for breeding. Ermitage is her first foal. His granddam, Blague du Maury, herself jumped at the 1.35m level. She is, for example, the dam of Vertige Kalone (Berlin), who jumps 1.45m, and also of Prestige Kalone (Potter du Manaou), who jumps 1.60m under Phillippe Rozier. Jasione aa, his third dam, is also the dam of the stallion Quercus du Maury and the granddam of the well-known Anglo-Arabian stallion Fusain du Defey. This Anglo line is a very well-known and sought-after line for its sport horses as well as the licensed stallions that have already emerged from it.
