New to our roster is the top-class show jumper Chopin van het Moleind. After a long and successful competition career, we have reached an agreement with the Velin family to offer our breeders this valuable bloodline. Chopin's sire is the legendary Quick Star. This little whirlwind had an enormous influence in top-level competition with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and also enjoyed a breeding career that is second to none. The list of his successful offspring is practically endless. But we must also mention Big Star, who, with Nick Skelton in the saddle, dominated show jumping for a time: Olympic gold in 2012 (London) and 2016 (Rio de Janeiro), victories at the Grand Prix of Aachen and the Grand Prix La Baule are just a few of Big Star's great achievements. Chopin's grandsire is none other than the phenomenon Darco. Darco, himself an international top-class rider like Ludo Phillipaerts and a medalist at the 1992 Olympic Games, made a name for himself as the sire and grandsire of numerous top horses worldwide. Temperament, gallop, and performance are and remain Darco's trademarks – also in breeding. In the third generation, we find Codexco. This son of Codex (Cottage Son xx) produced several outstanding international show jumpers during his active breeding career, including: Nura (Chopin's grandmother/Ludo Phillipaerts, Joyride, Leslie McNaught-Mändle), TJ (Hen van de Pol), etc. Chopin's dam line is extremely interesting, as his dam Nura (grandmother) won international Grand Prix and Nations Cups and became the dam of the top international horse Hidden Creek Quervo Gold (Qura), who was part of the US Olympic team in Beijing in 2008 with Margie Engle-Goldstein. Chopin van het Moline achieved international placings in 160 cm and was, among other things, part of the Danish European Championship team in Gothenburg in 2017, as well as the winning Nations Cup team in Uggerhalne. Chopin has several offspring from his time in Belgium. The first offspring of these are already successful in jumping up to 160cm.
